Paper and Patience
"Frank Maibier is a discreet connoisseur of the paper. Treating it with the care and desire to make discoveries he as a true lover he folds it, coates it with stain, wrinkles and skins it, puts in holes and separates it razor-sharp. Maibier doesn’t use paper, this material of everyday life, as a communication carrier. Instead, he brings it to speak, makes his whisper audible .....
These interventions, perforations, cuts are made in batches and work
series. The single sheet does exist autonomously, but never isolated.
Always it is interwoven into the neighboring modulations of works, it always involves relations with the other solution within a limited set of axioms .....
